Workshop sessions are aimed at those who want to discover the art of mosaics. You will:
Receive step by step guidance with personal support
Learn what tools are required and how to translate your ideas into a mosaic
Explore and experiment with various materials
Discover how to lay the tessarae for your design using correct adhesives
Practise grouting and see the effects that different coloured grouts can have on your finished piece
Get tips on mounting, finishing and caring for your mosaic
Discover how inspiring, versatile and addictive mosaics are
Develop and master a skill in a practical way
Workshops will be run by Maira Swanson, a member of the British Association for Modern Mosaic. Maira works as a full-time community mosaic artist and her work has allowed her to reach and teach hundreds of adults and children.
Her workshops are designed to engage and inspire people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities to create unique mosaic projects to take home. Her motto is: 'If you can glue it, you can do it'! At the foot of the page there is a video of a recent workshop (Mosaics Taster Day) held at St Mark's Clubhouse, Bedford.
Sessions are held throughout the year at the workshop in the Craft Business Centre, Colmworth and cost £60 for the day, plus any additional materials you wish to purchase.

From the B660 Kimbolton–Bedford road, turn off at the signpost towards Colmworth Golf Course and Colmworth. At the T junction (next to the Cornfields Restaurant) turn left towards Colmworth. Follow the road for approximately 0.75 miles and turn left on to School Lane (next to Puddleducks Nursery). Tythe Farm Business Park is at the top of School Lane and is signposted from the start of School Lane. Our premises have 'The Bromham Millers Craft Business Centre' sign on it.
