Welcome to the Bromham Millers
Group working on a mosaic commission
|
We are a community enterprise aiming to provide jobs for people with learning disabilities and autistic spectrum conditions. Only about 5% work full-time (compared with 47% of people with other disabilities).

To make this happen, we are working with NHS Bedfordshire, Bedford Borough Council, Autism Bedfordshire, Livability, and others and have set up a Craft Centre at Colmworth, North Bedfordshire.
We run basic business programmes for capable artists and crafters (Business startups) who can then launch and build thriving ventures, some of which will outsource tasks to an inclusive workforce based at Colmworth.
|
We are developing a mosaic craft workshop, where we will employ people with learning disabilities and autism on mosaics and other craft work; and provide diverse worthwhile jobs and activities in other sectors such as computer services (we have an IT suite). (Our mission.)
We also hold popular weekly craft workshops for the local community and publish a quarterly arts and crafts newsletter (Millers' News).
The quality arts and crafts produced at Colmworth and by our network of artists and crafters will be sold online (we are developing our own online shop, Craft Arcadia) and via TV shopping channels.
In the future, as we expand, we hope to move to Bromham Mill or to a location in Central Bedfordshire.
